RAINBOW  BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called "Rainbow Bridge", when an animal dies that has been especially close to someone, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all our special firends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed   are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they miss someone very special to them, who had been left behind.  They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers.  Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted and when you and your special friends finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from  your heart.

Then you cross the rainbow bridge together

The Pet Cemetery will be a place were you can go to remember those days that made you laugh and cry. When your photo captures a moment that you could never forget. Other pet lovers will read this and feel your love for your pet. We have a LIVE Chat ROOM were you may talk with other people who have the same breed or type of pet you have, we hope it will be a place of fun. Also please give us feed back and any suggestion on things to make this a better place to come when thinking about your pet.

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels.  I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.  I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly,so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage.  I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today.  Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have
the future to look forward to and
want to make a difference in someone's life. She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck;she was desperate for companionship.

A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.  Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe.  I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see

that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.  I promise to give her unconditional love as long as she or I shall live. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.  So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.  So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.  I rescued a human today.

Here in this house...
I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of
the
other dogs 'out there'.
I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my
world will
not have changed.
I will never know hunger, or the fear of not
knowing if I'll eat.
I will not shiver in the
cold, or grow weary from the heat.
I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness,
and be allowed
to smell all that can reach my nose.
My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.
Here in this house... There will be an effort to
communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked
to and, even if I don't understand, I can enjoy
the warmth of the
words.
I will be given a name so that I may know who I
am among many.
My name will be used in joy, and
I will love the
sound of it!Here in this house...
I will never be a substitute for anything I
am not.
I will never be used to improve peoples'
images of themselves.
I will be loved because
I am who I am, not someone's idea of who I
should be.I will never suffer for someone's anger,
impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the
things I need to know to be loved
 by  all.
If I do not learn my lessons well, they will
look to my teacher
for blame.
Here in this house... I can trust arms
that hold, hands that touch...knowing that,
no matter what they do, they do it for the
good of me.
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed. If sad, I will
be cheered.
No matter what I look like, I
will be considered beautiful
and known to
be of
value.I will never be cast out because
I am too old, too ill,
too unruly, or not cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an
afterthought.
I will learn that humans can
almost, sometimes, be as
kind and as fairas dogs.
Here in this house...I will belong.
I will be home.
